Scouting For Food Service Project 2019

Again this year the Scouts of Pack 718 will perform a community service project to collect food donations for the San Juan Diego Food Pantry.

Here are the Den-level collection area assignments within the Pack 718 area.

Please work with your Den Leader & Den-level SFF Coordinator for details of your Den-level collection plan.  Dens may choose to distribute collection bags in advance of collection day, or go door-to-door on collection day (Saturday Dec. 3rd) asking for donations, or a combination of the two.  Den-level coordinators should already have collection bags.

Dens are encouraged to go to the food pantry with all their scouts to drop off together on Saturday, Dec. 3rd.  This helps reinforce the message of charitable giving and that others aren’t able to get food the way we do.  Please take group picture of your scouts at the food pantry when dropping of donations.

Each SFF Den Coordinator will coordinate with the scouts to drop off the collected donations between 9am – 1pm on Saturday morning, Dec. 7th.  **Very Important** – This is the only time and day they are open for the donation drop off, so please drop off food donations by 1:00pm.

Each Den Leader/Coordinator must record & provide the Pack Coordinator (Raymond Yee) with:

  1. How many pounds of food they donated.  This is for pack rollup.
  2. Names of scouts that participated, so they can receive recognition segments.
  3. Did the Den achieve 50%+ participation?  If yes, they will get an award flag for their den flagpole.
